如何衡量后现代主义?

 

我们与后现代思想诚然有本质上的不同。正如在本章开始时所说,我们承认后现代主义给福音派神学带来了一些有价值的东西,即提醒我们注意到没有被充分解决的问题。后现代主义的观点使我们留心语言交流的困难,提醒我们已有假设(亦可称作“前理解”)难以察觉的影响,并且促使我们重新考量圣经与我们之间存在的文化和历史差异,更加缜密地研究我们在文化和神学上的先入之见,不再贸然宣称对圣经准确无误的解释。最该感谢后现代思想的是,它削弱了现代主义释经法的傲慢,这傲慢已逐渐腐蚀了人们对圣经中记载的神超自然介入的信心。

 

但我们最反对的是,后现代主义对于启示的可靠性和圣经权威的强烈攻击。我们坚信客观不变的真理是存在的,而且神选择向我们启示了有关他本身以及他对我们的旨意的真理。这启示不仅是在他的儿子耶稣基督里,也是在先知和使徒的话语中。我们坚信语言文字不仅能够,而且也确实以我们当今可以理解的方式表达了神的真理。当我们遵循理解人类交流的合理指导方法时,就可以理解神的真理。这是本书的基本假设。
